Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The most liked element at The Plaice to Eat is undoubtedly the food quality. Regulars rave about the battered chips, noting their fantastic flavor and crispiness that makes them stand out from other places.

The attentive service is another highlight. Many patrons commend the staff for their friendliness and willingness to accommodate special requests, especially for families with children or dietary needs.

Lastly, the affordability makes it popular. With meals priced between £1 and £10, patrons appreciate the value they receive for delicious, hearty meals.

Most Disliked

Though The Plaice to Eat has garnered a loyal fanbase, some customers express concerns about wait times during peak hours. The popularity can lead to a bustling environment where service may lag.

Occasionally, customers mention that certain menu items can sell out, particularly the special meal deals. It's always smart to arrive early if you have your heart set on a specific dish.

Lastly, while the parking availability is mentioned as free, finding a spot close to the entrance during busy times can be a challenge.

I usually don't like to leave reviews as they can be damaging to local companies but credit where credit is due. We pre ordered part of our meal before visiting this place (chicken) and may i say the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Amy prepared our food and the order was done perfectly. Lovely food and fantastic service, as by the name this is definitely The Place To Eat. Thank you

After recently having a celiac diagnosis eating out has been a nightmare but every Tuesday without fail I keep coming back with Wife and kids. Food is always hot and delicious and my children who have special needs are always treated with nothing but respect and kindness. We are usually quite loud and boystrus but we are welcomed every time. Would 1000% recommend

Every Tuesday we are made to feel so welcome, nothing is too much trouble. We have children/young adults with Autism who are always made to feel that the Plaice to eat is home from home, our children can always be themselves food is served how needed even if it takes 3-4 extra plates to make our children comfortable with food not touching.Food is always outstanding, being gluten free this is the only chips shop we haven't been cross contaminated at,we look forward to our Tuesday evening meeting with our friends and eating great food.We never feel rushed eating in with proper plates and cutlery, everything is always spotlessly clean and service is always full of smiles.See you again on Tuesday xxx
